Coastal Clarity

Your brain has too many tabs open.

Let’s close a few.

Join us for our next coastal clarity walk...

Coastal Clarity Walks: A mental fitness class in motion

Led by Jacqueline Weeks, Chartered Coaching Psychologist

Modern life is noisy. We are more 'connected' than ever, yet we often feel isolated, overwhelmed, and mentally exhausted. Traditional 'self-care' can feel like just another chore on the to-do list.  A Coastal Clarity Walk is a structured, 60/90-minute experience thoughtfully designed to strengthen your mental capacity and cut through the mental fog.

Wednesdays 12noon - all welcome

An opportunity to reset & re-energise.  Celebrate the wins from the week & troubleshoot the uphill struggles.

What can I expect?

CONNECTION

We meet outside Hightown Hotel and wander down to the shoreline using this first 10mins to ground ourselves and meet our fellow walkers.

FOCUS

I introduce a Topic of the Day—a psychological concept (e.g boundaries, transitions, belonging...) to guide our reflection.

EXPLORATION

PAUSE

As we walk along the beachfront chatting in small clusters, you’ll explore what the topic means to you and what feels relevant in that moment.

At Blundellsands Sailing Club we take a moment to introduce a Prompt from nature that invites deeper thinking and to reflect on emerging themes.

At this point you may opt to return to the start point and use your time walking to consolidate your new thinking - this option would provide a total experience time of approx 60mins.Alternatively, you may choose to continue with me for a further 30min loop along the shoreline and through the dunes.

INTENTION

We use this additional time to integrate thinking into existing challenges / circumstances allowing you to leave with clarity on next steps.

FOLLOW-UP

After our walk, I’ll send one 'take-home' mental fitness exercise straight to your inbox so you can build up a Mental Fitness Toolkit of your own!

Coastal Clarity: Frequently Asked Questions

Why is walking along the coast so powerful for meaningful conversation?

Traditional indoor environments such as cafe's, offices or even your kitchen table can sometimes feel restrictive or high-pressure. The side-by-side nature of walking - especially whilst breathing in fresh sea air - makes it easier to establish mental focus and enable thoughts to naturally surface while the movement of your body helps "untangle" your thinking.

What if I’m not particularly fit?

This isn't a fitness bootcamp! The pace is entirely dictated by you. We walk at a "conversational pace"—one that feels comfortable for you to talk without being breathless. The focus is on the conversation, not the cardio.

What happens if the weather is bad?

A bit of mist can be atmospheric, but safety and comfort are priorities. If the weather forecasted is heavy rain or dangerous winds I will cancel the session - I would aim to do this no later than 8pm the evening before and all money would be refunded.  If the weather is 'miserable but safe' then we encourage you to come along and brave the elements equipped with appropriate clothing and footwear.

Why the coast specifically?

Science shows that "Blue Spaces" (being near water) significantly reduces cortisol levels and mental fatigue. The ocean horizon encourages "big picture" thinking, helping you lift the "fog" of day-to-day tasks.

What should I bring?

Comfort is key to clarity! I recommend:

- Comfortable walking shoes or trainers.

- Layers (it can be breezier on the path than inland).

- A bottle of water.

- An open mind.

Can I bring my dog?

I love dogs!  But dogs don't necessarily appreciate the need for uninterrupted headspace so on this occasion we would ask that you leave your furry friend at home so you can walk without distraction.  Please do let me know if this prevents you from signing up as I am open to scheduling a dog-friendly walk as a separate offering.
